Crazy Crafter's Blog Hop

Welcome to the New Year everybody!  Hope this year will be wonderful for you all.  For the very first Crazy Crafter's Blog Hop we are doing a Black and White card.  If you have made it to my blog you would have come from the awesome Sarah Rae Oakes at Stampin' Up with Sarah

I have NEVER done a Black and White card and I was very excited to have a go at this.  The lovely Michelle Mills picked our theme this month and I think it is an awesome one.
I chose Stampin' Up!s wonderful Pleasant Poppies background stamp.  I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock with Versamark Ink then embossed it with Black Embossing Powder. I always use the Embossing Buddy and run it over the cardstock to prevent extra powder from sticking to the cardstock.  I also stamped it on Black cardstock and embossed it with White Embossing Powder then punched out random parts with the 1 1/4 circle punch then used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere them onto the card front.  The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations which I White Embossed onto Black cardstock then die cut with an Apothecary Accents die.  The ribbon is 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon which is so cute.  Then I adhered it all to a Basic Black card.  All in all I think it turned out pretty well but I may be a little biased.

  6. After seeing this gorgeous card, I know now I need to add the Pleasant Poppies to my wish list and stock up on embossing powder. I love the card design, especially the black circles, this is such a great idea. I will need to CAS this one for sure.
