Favourite Stampin' Up! Stamp Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crazy Crafter's favourites blog hop.  If you are following our blog hop you would have come to my blog from Carolina Evans blog.

I belong to the best Stampin' Up! group The Crazy Crafter's.  Kylie is the best upline anyone could ever wish for I am so proud to be in this wonderful group of girls that have become my best friends.  Some of us have decided to do a blog hop using our favourite stamp.  So we each chose our favourite stamp set and created a card showcasing that stamp.  A blog hop works by each persons post having a link to the next person blog and so on until you have seen them all.  I have never done one of these before but am very happy to be having a go.

For this hop I chose Lovely as a Tree as the stamp I wanted to showcase.  This stamp is so versatile, I have made a Christmas Card with it but you can use this stamp all through the year.  This is the first time that I have made an easel card and I really love how it turned out.

I sponged Soft Sky and Midnight Muse over the piece of Whisper White cardstock then I attempted to create a mirrored effect with the stamp by first stamping it upright then stamping it again on a piece of Stampin' Up!'s Window Sheets.  I then turned it upside down matched it to the one I had stamped on the Whisper White cardstock and laid it on the cardstock and smoothed it all over with my hands and carefully lifted the window sheet up so I didn't smudge it.  It turns out lighter then stamping straight onto the cardstock so it looks like a reflection on water.  I used Tombow glue and dabbed it over the trees and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter over it.  For the snow I used the Tombow liberally in mounds and then sprinkled the glitter on it.  Just be careful to make sure to let the glue dry at least 24hrs before touching it as the glue is quite thick and takes a while to dry.

I made an easel card from Midnight Muse cardstock and attached the card front to it, then I used a piece of Soft Sky cardstock and sponged Midnight Muse around it then added 2 pieces of Silver Foil  punched it with the Scalloped Edge Punch.  Then I broke out my brand new Expressions Thinlets Dies to cut out Merry.  Now the tip I used to cut it out was I place a piece of baking paper between the die and cardstock then the cardstock pops straight out. Works brilliantly!  I adhered the 2 Merry's with our 2-way glue pen.  This is the first time that I have used this particular glue and I am so angry with myself for not having brought this before it is the best glue especially for those little fiddly pieces.  If you want it to adhere temporarily you let it dry first until it turns clear, if you want it to be permanent then use it while it is still blue.

The Frosted Finishes Embellishments I adhered with our mini glue dots. These little embellishments are awesome!  I have gone through 2 packs already and still have a heap of things I need to make with them.
