Crazy Crafter's Blog Hop

Hi all and welcome to March's Crazy Crafter's Blog Hop.  This month we have chosen Punch Art as our theme and it has been really fun playing with my punches.  If you are viewing my blog you will have come from the awesomely talented Carolina Evans at Studio Evans

It was my nephew's birthday at the end of February so I thought doing a card up for him with punch art would be perfect.
I have always wanted to try an alien card so that's the first thing I thought of when it came time to do our punch art blog.  The moon is actually made from the largest circle in the Circle Collection Framelits.  I cut 2 the same size and then punched some "craters" in the moon using 1/2" circle punch and the small circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack on Smoky Slate card stock  and then sponged around the outside and the craters with Smoky Slate Ink and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals so I could put the little aliens in the craters.. The aliens are made using the Owl Builder Punch turned upside down and with his little feet cut off.  The Tangerine Tango alien's eyes are the little circles that are in the Owl Builder Punch with googly eyes glued on top.  The Gumball Green alien's hair is from the Boho Blossoms punch.  The little alien's peaking out of the craters are from the 3/4" circle punch with little the horns made from the Owl Builders ears.

The Space Ship is from the 2 1/2" circle punch cut in half in Tempting Turquoise with a strip of Real Red and the circle are from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack in Whisper White and the Gumball Green are from the Owl Builder Punch.  The stars are from the Merry Minis Punch Pack which is a carried over item and I used Daffodil Delight card stock for them.  The banner is from the sale-a-bration Banner Punch which is one of the products you can get for free until the 31/3 with every $90 you spend.  The spots on the Midnight Muse background were made using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Silver Encore Ink.  The sentiment is from the Blast Off stamp set in Silver Embossing Powder and the 3 on the banner was done using ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet and Numbers stamp set in Midnight Muse Ink.

For the inside of the card I made the moon and the alien and stars the same as the front and the large banner is from the Banners Framelits Dies and the 3 is from the Typeset Alphabet Bigz die.

For the right side of the inside I used our new stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue called Another Great Year in Real Red and Midnight Muse Ink..  I think this set is super cute.  And because I made the card so big I had to make a special envelope for it with our Envelope Punch Board and I made a matching tag with the new Angled Tag Topper Punch from the Occasions Catalogue,

I used Daffodil Delight to make the envelope(which are super easy to make) and added his name using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz die.  The tag is Midnight Muse with more spots from Gorgeous Grunge stamped in
Silver Encore Ink.  The alien is Tangerine Tango made with the Owl Builder punch again and the planet is made from the 1 3/4" circle punch.  The ring around the planet is made using the Large Oval Punch first on Real Red(not using the oval you just punched out) on the card stock where you punched the first oval place the Extra-large Oval evenly over the oval shaped hole you left in the card stock and punch and then you will be left with an oval shaped ring.  Just place the planet through the oval and adhere at the back.

I know that this has been a super long post, but I hope that you have enjoyed my take on a punch art card.
